Job Overview
Gain real life experience in the natural resources field by working alongside our skilled Ecologists! Spend the summer working outside with a team in pristine natural resource environments while expanding your knowledge in areas such as native flora and fauna, herbicide use, and ecological restoration work such as brush clearing and weed control activities. Work schedule is typically a 40-hour week Monday-Friday.
QualificationsPrevious coursework in environmental sciences, biology, natural resources, forestry or related field preferred, but not required. Less than six (6) months of experience in plant identification preferred, but not required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Beginning professionals within a related field are encouraged to apply.
Physical & Safety RequirementsDriving is an essential part of the job, so for your safety and those around you, we require applicants to have a current, valid driver's license and complete a pre‑employment drug screening. Job responsibilities require regularly lifting up to 50lbs. You must be at least 18 years of age at the time of your start date.
You Will Gain From This ExperienceWhile we do not provide a formal internship program, if you need to obtain college credits through an internship we are open to further discussing with you the criteria your college is looking for in a program to determine if the District has the time and resources to fulfill those needs.
