Health Informatics Coordinator III

Overview

As part of Prime Healthcare, Landmark Medical Center is actively seeking a Health Informatics Coordinator III to improve documentation, data quality, and workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Under direction of Manager/Director of Health Informatics: access, input, retrieve information, and solve problems using various computer systems.
  • Verify and ensure receipt of all medical records upon patient discharge; prepare, scan, and index records.
  • Act as liaison for physician offices and hospital staff to assist physicians and other medical personnel in achieving timely, accurate, and complete documentation practices.
  • Analyze medical records for chart completion deficiencies in accordance with regulatory requirements and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations.
  • Assist medical staff in chart completion efforts and carry out suspension process if records are not completed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate workflow on EHR systems and processes.
  • Perform quality monitoring and participate in activities to improve EHR data integrity.
  • Answer telephone calls and assist visitors (physicians, patients, family) while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Assist with submission of OSHPD data, Cancer Registry reporting, birth certification process for newborns, tracking of newborn screening samples and results, etc.
  • Support department needs through any analysis, Release of Information, or other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum five years of HIM experience in an acute care setting.
  • Accurate alphabetic, numeric, and/or terminal‑digit filing skills.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements for medical staff documentation.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements.
  • Advanced computer skills: operating multiple software applications and other office equipment.
  • Experience with EHR platforms and software.
  • Training experience in an EHR and/or documentation‑related applications.
  • Knowledge of clinical informatics.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
