HYC Drop-in Center Support/Data Specialist (Full Time)

Woonsocket, RI

Position Summary

This position is based in a drop-in center for youth ages 12‑25 from diverse backgrounds and experiences. We are in need of a dynamic individual who is passionate about working with this age group and youth facing significant challenges. This individual works closely with the Director, Manager, staff, and clients to ensure the smooth operation of all HYC programming through a trauma‑informed lens.

Responsibilities
  • Data Support
    :
    Take the lead on supporting staff with data collection, entry, and reporting in accordance with contractual obligations.
    Supporting Actions: Become familiar with all program funding contracts and their expected outcomes, ensure that all outcome reports and databases are managed correctly by appropriate staff, supervise all data‑relevant activities and duties, assist in database training, and produce reports, graphs, charts, etc. when requested.
  • Drop‑in Center Support
    :
    Support the daily operations of the Harbour Youth Center by assisting with drop‑in center operations.
    Supporting Actions: Be present and actively engaged during peak after‑school hours, assist with admitting youth, complete the intake process, engage in offered activities, identify youth needing additional support, meet with them one‑on‑one, and connect with families and make appropriate referrals, following through to successful connection.
  • Crisis Intervention and De‑escalation
    :
    Support the Director, Manager, and staff to intervene in any crisis situations that may arise with youth.
    Supporting Actions: Screen youth for safety, connect to appropriate emergency services, support families in communicating with internal or external mental health providers, deliver interventions in a trauma‑informed and holistic manner, and offer wrap‑around services to youth and families.
Education and Experience

Demonstrated educational background or work experience with both youth and data management. Minimum of 1‑2 years.

  • Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills. Initiative and judgment to independently problem‑solve and prioritize.
  • Experience with youth in diverse, urban settings.
  • Bi‑lingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Youth‑centered, youth‑focused framework and thoughtfulness.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to de‑escalate crises.
  • Ability to multi‑task and prioritize workload.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google platforms.
  • Strong commitment to promoting just and equitable practices.
  • Ability to work one evening a week.
