Under the supervision of the Director of Child Care Services
, the Out of School Time Activity Leader supervises a group of children and program activities in accordance with all policies, procedures, and standards as established by the law or the Y.

• Supervise a group of children and program activities.
• Follow all policies, procedures, and standards as established by the law or the Y (e.g., safety or emergency procedures, behavior guidance strategies, child abuse prevention policies); maintain the program site, equipment; and required program records.
• Nurture children through purposeful programming; plan activities that are developmentally appropriate, culturally relevant, and consistent with the Y's values.
• Create a positive rapport with youth; model relationship-building skills in interactions.
• Provide opportunities for youth to lead, problem-solve, and make decisions; provide daily opportunities for reflection on experiences.
• Provide and welcome ongoing dialogue with parents and caregivers about child needs and progress; connect families to the Y.
• Present a professional image, maintain neat appearance, positive manner, dependable attendance, and act as a role model for children, families and staff.
• Attend and participate in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred.
• Previous experience working with children (at least 6 months) required.
• Meets minimum age standards as established by state law and/or the Y.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required; or within 60 days of hire.
• Child Abuse Prevention training required within 30 days of hire.
• Previous experience working with diverse populations preferred.
• Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.

Job Type: Part-Time

Pay: $16.00/hr
