Facility Management Corporation, known as “FMC Ice Sports,” was formed in 1992 to deliver high-quality ice sport facility management and operations, as well as ice-based programs that benefit our communities and promote interest in both hockey and skating. We have established a record of quality operations and have grown to be the largest operator of public arenas in the United States.
FMC operates 25 public ice-skating arenas across Massachusetts in partnership with the Commonwealth, municipalities, and educational institutions.
We are seeking Lead Instructors to work under the supervision of each program's Supervisor. Responsibilities include instructing groups and lessons for FMC’s learn-to-skate and learn-to-play programs, engaging with children and adults, demonstrating skating techniques, and performing customer service duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service and manage customer interactions effectively.
- Educate participants on safe ice activities.
- Evaluate and assign students to appropriate skating levels.
- Complete program documentation such as attendance and recommendations.
- Enforce rink policies and procedures professionally.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patrons and staff.
- Complete tasks assigned by the Program Supervisor timely.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This is a part-time position, primarily scheduled in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends, with dates and times varying.
RequirementsPreferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience assisting or teaching skating classes is preferred.
- Proficiency in ice skating required. Figure skaters should have passed ISI Freestyle 4 or USFS Freeskate 4 and up; hockey players should have multiple years of league play.
Compensation: Pay ranges from $20-30 per hour during training, $22-32 upon completing training, and $17-18 for non-instructor roles, based on experience and qualifications. All offers are contingent upon passing background checks, including CORI, SORI, and criminal history checks. FMC Ice Sports is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
