Job Description

Summary:

The Automata Lab in the Robotics Engineering Department at WPI is seeking a qualified post‑doctoral fellow to contribute to cutting‑edge research at the intersection of formal methods, machine learning, and control. The fellow will collaborate closely with the PI and a team of faculty and graduate students, working on projects such as reinforcement learning with temporal logic, control barrier functions, and learning‑enabled state estimation.

• Conduct original research in close collaboration with the Automata Lab PI.
• Assist in conceiving, writing, and securing research proposals.
• Mentor graduate students, supporting research ideation and technical communication.

• Ph.D. in robotics, computer science, systems engineering, or a related field.
• Strong track record of scholarly publications.
• Background in formal methods, machine learning, and/or controls engineering.

$65,000 per year, depending on related experience, expertise, and internal equity.
