The RN Director - Psych provides leadership and strategic oversight to ensure safe, high-quality psychiatric nursing care across assigned behavioral health units. This role partners closely with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and other senior leaders to drive excellence in patient outcomes, staff development, and operational efficiency. The Director holds 24/7 accountability for assigned nursing areas and ensures compliance with clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies.

• Provide clinical and administrative leadership for behavioral health nursing units.
• Support the CNO in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care delivery and performance metrics.
• Oversee staff competency, performance evaluations, and professional development initiatives.
• Promote evidence-based psychiatric nursing practices aligned with hospital standards and patient safety protocols.
• Manage departmental budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation to optimize patient care and efficiency.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration between nursing, psychiatry, social work, and ancillary departments.
• Monitor compliance with state, federal, and Joint Commission regulations.
• Act as a clinical role model, mentor, and advocate for nursing professionalism and patient-centered care.
• Lead quality improvement projects focused on behavioral health safety, patient experience, and outcomes.
• Participate in strategic planning and hospital-wide initiatives as part of the nursing leadership team.

• Education:
  
  Associate degree in Nursing with a Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or BSN required.
• Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related healthcare discipline required.
• Licensure:
  Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum 2 years of progressive hospital management experience (Manager or Director level). Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing required.
• Certifications:
  
  CPR Certification required. Additional behavioral health or leadership certifications (e.g., PMH-BC, ANCC) preferred.
• Skills:
  Proven leadership and staff management abilities;
  Strong knowledge of psychiatric care standards and safety protocols;
  Excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills;
  Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, high-acuity environment.

• Successful completion of background check and pre-employment health screening, including drug screening, is mandatory prior to hire.
