Support & Stabilization Services - Occupational Therapist

Overview

Open Sky Community Services provides Support & Stabilization Services to support youth up to age 22 and families facing emotional and/or behavioral challenges. Services include groups, therapeutic services to help children remain in their home, preparation support for reunification, permanency support, skill building, increasing social connections, and linking families to community resources to meet basic needs. The program aims to tailor services to each youth’s strengths and needs to support safety, permanency, and well-being.

The Occupational Therapist will contribute to the evaluation process by implementing delegated assessments and providing verbal and written reports of observation. They will provide therapeutic interventions to youth and families in both individual and group settings and collaborate with the youth and families to develop a comprehensive Occupational Therapy treatment plan.

• Identify sensory processing challenges and implement sensory diets and/or environmental adaptations as indicated.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to youth and families in both individual and group settings.
• Demonstrate knowledge about evaluation results and contribute input into the intervention plan based on each youth’s needs and priorities.
• Provide training and assistance with the development of community integration, instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), and activities of daily living (ADLs) skills.

• Must possess a current Massachusetts License and National Board certification as an Occupational Therapist.
• Previous experience working with youth and young adults with mental health challenges, required.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving history, required.
