CATERING MANAGER - Worcester State University - Worcester, MA

Salary: $62,000 - $70,000

As a Catering Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Catering Department, training new associates, overseeing event set‑ups, and directing temporary personnel in addition to their everyday assignments. You will ensure proper service to clients during events, including set‑up, cleaning, and breakdown procedures.

• Supervises all catering events.
• Operates catering event logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and facility activities.
• Works with the Chef to create menus.
• Trains catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.
• Tracks and monitors labor and food cost for each event.
• Communicates on various levels to include management, client, customer, and associate levels; maintains excellent client relationships.
• Assists in all food service‑related activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• 2 years of food service experience including 1 year at the management level.
• Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
• Prior catering experience is required.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
• Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products.
• Serv Safe Certification.
