We are looking for a motivated and adaptable Network Engineer to join our team in Worcester, Massachusetts. This long-term contract position is ideal for individuals eager to advance their career from a Helpdesk role into Networking and Infrastructure. The role offers an excellent opportunity for growth, mentorship, and hands‑on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot connectivity and advanced network issues on end‑user devices, including laptops, tablets, and mobile phones.
- Replace and install network equipment, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces when necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly with users to address technical challenges.
- Provide proactive engagement and maintain an approachable demeanor while interacting with colleagues and clients.
- Handle helpdesk or general IT support tasks with attention to detail and efficiency.
- Utilize and manage Juniper and Aruba networking systems, ensuring optimal performance.
- Configure and maintain Cisco routers and switches for seamless network operations.
- Monitor and manage Palo Alto firewalls to ensure secure network connectivity.
- Implement and troubleshoot Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) configurations.
- Maintain and oversee Cisco ASA devices to support network security.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues on various end‑user devices.
- Familiarity with network equipment installation and comfortable working in tight spaces or using ladders.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and assist users effectively.
- Previous experience in a Helpdesk or IT support role.
- Knowledge or experience with Juniper and Aruba systems, with relevant certifications preferred.
- Proficiency in Cisco networking, including routers and switches.
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco ASA devices.
- Understanding of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and its implementation.
