Guidewire Policy Center Developer Lead

We are seeking an experienced Guidewire Policy Center Developer Lead to drive development, configuration, and integration efforts for Policy Center applications.

This role involves leading technical delivery, mentoring junior developers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and high-quality solutions within the P&C insurance domain.

• Customize and enhance Policy Center workflows, entities, business rules, and user interfaces using Gosu, PCF, and Guidewire Studio.
• Develop reusable components and frameworks to accelerate future development efforts.

• Design, develop, and maintain integrations with external systems (Billing Center, Claim Center, third-party services) using APIs, web services (SOAP/REST), and messaging queues.
• Ensure robust and secure data exchange across platforms.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and analysts to analyze requirements and translate business needs into scalable technical designs.
• Create and maintain detailed design and configuration documentation.
• Work closely with architects, QA, business analysts, and other developers within Agile teams (participate in sprints, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).
• Mentor and guide junior developers, sharing best practices and technical expertise.

• Conduct unit, integration, and system testing to ensure solutions meet functional and performance requirements.
• Perform code reviews, optimize application performance, and enforce coding standards.

• Provide production support for Policy Center applications, including troubleshooting, defect resolution, and root cause analysis.
• Support release management and deployment activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Guidewire Policy Center development and integration.
• Demonstrated leadership in technical delivery and team collaboration.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Must be onsite at least 2 days/week in Worcester, Massachusetts.

• Guidewire Suite:
  Deep expertise in Policy Center, Gosu programming, Guidewire Studio, and PCF configuration.
• Programming:
  Proficient in Java and Gosu; experience developing and consuming web services (SOAP/REST).
• Tools:
  Jira, Git/Bitbucket, Ant/Maven/Gradle, SOAP UI, Postman.
• Concepts:
  Strong understanding of P&C insurance domain, Agile methodologies, Dev Ops practices, and scalable solution design.

• Guidewire certifications (Policy Center, Integration) are a plus.
• Experience with other Guidewire modules (Billing Center, Claim Center).
• Prior experience in insurance or financial services domains.
