Job Description

The Night Shift Lead is responsible for ensuring pans are processed and that employees are performing their jobs correctly. This includes ensuring pans are properly straightened. The position reports to the Shift Supervisor.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Ensuring the timely processing of pans throughout the production process
• Monitoring employee performance to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
• Pouring die molds for the press when needed
• Starting and stopping ovens at appropriate times
• Loading carts of pans into ovens using the cart caddy
• Marking each oven chart recorder for each load
• Checking the chart recorder to confirm proper oven time before removing carts
• Removing carts of pans from the oven and moving them to the next operation
• Inspecting the first glazed pan to ensure proper coverage and making adjustments as needed
• Loading trucks correctly and verifying pan counts
• Ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed in the absence of the plant manager or supervisor
• Assisting other employees as needed
• Ensuring all employees wear proper PPE at all times
• Monitoring the quality of the entire process and addressing issues promptly
• Reporting unsafe conditions immediately to the plant manager or supervisor
• Performing additional duties as assigned by the plant manager or supervisor

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

• High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, MSDS, operating instructions, and manuals
• Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, handle objects, reach, talk, hear, taste, and smell
• Required safety gear includes safety glasses, shoes, ear plugs, gloves, and appropriate clothing; no tank tops or sleeveless shirts
• Face shield and aluminized jacket required when pouring die molds
• Ability to lift/move over 75 pounds and perform pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, lifting from the floor, and turning head movements
• Must understand and safely perform all duties
