Responsibilities

• Perform precision machining operations on parts with defined tolerances and configurations
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and machining instructions
• Select appropriate tools, materials, machine feeds, and speeds
• Set up machines and operate equipment according to pre-programmed requirements
• Inspect own work using calibrated measuring instruments (micrometers, gauges, indicators, etc.)
• Make basic machine adjustments and manual cutter compensation to maintain tolerances
• Work collaboratively with higher-level Machinists to support process improvements and product development
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following all safety and PPE requirements

• CNC machines
• Lathes, vertical mills, grinders, metal cutting saws
• Hand and power tools
• Standard machine attachments (rotary tables, magnetic chucks, milling attachments)

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 2 years of machining experience and/or training
• Technical school, apprenticeship, or equivalent CNC machining experience preferred

• Basic trade mathematics
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read blueprints and understand machinist handbooks
• Knowledge of machining various materials (steel, aluminum, alloys, composites)
• Ability to work independently after training period (approximately 4–6 months)

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, metal chips, abrasives, coolants, and lubricants
• Occasional exposure to heat, fumes, and airborne dust
• Required use of PPE including safety shoes, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators as applicable
