Overview
This position will be supporting patients at Family Health Center, 26 Queen Street and Worcester Health Care for the Homeless, 199 Chandler Street.
Position Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric provides comprehensive, cost effective health care to families which includes assessment, diagnosis, and treatment according to the standards of advanced nursing practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains working knowledge of and adheres to the program Manual, agency handbook and Policies and Procedures
- Commitment to providing cost conscious, fiscally responsible, timely, efficient, effective, safe, patient-centered, culturally competent, equitable, and participatory health care.
- Attends all required trainings as per Agency Policy, Program Manual and Funder Guidelines.
- Arrives on time for work and maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Maintains appropriate boundaries and ethical standards with staff, clients, visitors and outside providers as detailed in Agency Policy.
- Maintains positive and professional working relationships with co-workers, managers, clients, visitors and outside providers.
- Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills (including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides psychiatric health services, education, counseling and emotional support.
- Issues medication in accordance with treatment guidelines.
- Collaborates with Consulting Psychiatrist.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
One of the following combinations of education and employment experience must be met in order to be considered for the position:
Education and Experience
- Graduate of an ANA accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing required.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner required.
- Must have demonstrated ability to work independently with complex patient care.
- Professional Licensure/Special Skills And Certification
Required:
Current licensure by Massachusetts Board of Nursing as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. - Current DEA/Mass Controlled Substance license for prescriptive authority. BLS required.
This position reports to:
The Director of Psychiatric Services.
EOE
Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm.
