The Registered Nurse – NICU provides specialized nursing care for newborns requiring intensive medical attention in a Level III/IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This position ensures the highest standards of patient care, safety, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate has strong clinical judgment
, NICU experience
, and proficiency with EPIC electronic health systems.
- Deliver direct nursing care to critically ill neonates
, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based clinical practice. - Monitor and manage patients’ conditions using advanced NICU equipment and protocols.
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments, and medications accurately using EPIC EMR
. - Provide education and support to parents and family members on patient status and care plans.
- Follow infection control and safety standards to maintain a sterile NICU environment.
- Minimum 2 years of recent Level III or IV NICU experience
. - Active Massachusetts RN license (conditional license accepted).
- EPIC experience required.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
- Previous experience in a teaching hospital or high-acuity NICU setting
. - Additional certifications such as STABLE or BLS
.
- Advanced neonatal patient assessment and care planning.
- Strong communication and critical-thinking abilities.
- Compassionate approach to family-centered care.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation (EPIC).
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration across healthcare disciplines.
- Ability to handle night shift responsibilities and 12-hour rotations.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.
Night Shift — 3x12 hours per week
Schedule19:00–07:30 (36 hours per week)
