Travel RN - Telemetry - ER - Hold

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ER Holding/Surge position requiring an active MA RN license and at least 2 years of telemetry experience.

• Active MA RN license required and must be in hand
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
• Preferred experience in a Trauma Level I setting
• Skills required:
  
  cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur Evac), starting and maintaining IVs, phlebotomy, and medication administration including PCA
• Must pass a pass/fail medication exam and a pass/fail telemetry exam during orientation with only 1 attempt allowed for each

• Work in the ER Holding unit caring for overflow and surge patients
• Floating to different areas within the ED required to cover overflow/surge needs
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Shift start time flexibility of up to 4 hours earlier or later based on critical department need
• EOW/EOH (every other weekend/every other holiday) requirement
• 13-week assignment at 36 hours per week
• Uses Epic for charting
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facility allows 1 of the 3 major upcoming holidays as RTO
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 200-mile radius
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with none allowed in the first week
• Study materials are provided during the compliance process and FDIs to help prepare for required exams
