Assistant Bakery Manager
Location: Price Chopper Supermarkets – Market 32
SummaryProvides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Assists the bakery manager with overseeing the day‑to‑day operation through ensuring that policies and procedures regarding merchandising, sanitation, and training are followed. Inspects bakery product to ensure that availability and quality are maintained to promote optimal opportunity for sales.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Consistently work within company 5S efficiency standards to provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times.
- Smile, make eye contact, and thank customers upon fulfilling their requests.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work station according to 5S standards at all times.
- Assist with bakery operations, including preparation, baking, merchandising, and final presentation of all bakery products.
- Run the department in the absence of the manager.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through product availability, quality, outstanding service, and sanitary conditions.
- Maintain adequate presentation with a proper variety of products necessary to meet customer needs.
- Adhere to all corporate and state sanitation regulations.
- Fulfill all customer special orders.
- Assist in the training and development of all bakery associates to meet corporate standards of performance.
- Assist bakery manager in maintaining corporate inventory levels in freezers, coolers, back rooms, supplies and “Deco Pac.”
- Learn all financial aspects of the bakery department, including paperwork, weekly shrink, transfer sales, and budgets.
- Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by managementn
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow‑through to achieve desired results and objectives.
Required or preferred education and experience details are not specified; however, successful applicants should demonstrate relevant experience in a fast‑moving bakery environment.
