Salesperson | Store Driver
Entry‑level role capable of supporting the DIY and delivery functions of an automotive parts retailer. Position can be part‑time or full‑time and requires a valid driver’s license and fleet safety certification.
OverviewProvide an excellent selling experience for in‑store and phone customer visits, deliver parts to commercial customers, and assist with inventory processes. Maintain store product and operational standards and support the store’s sales and service objectives.
Primary Responsibilities – Salesperson- Provide an outstanding selling experience for DIY customers in‑store and over the phone.
- Achieve personal sales goal and help the store achieve its sales goals.
- Perform DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper blade installation, and other basic automotive services.
- Maintain store product and operational standards.
- Responsible for inventory processes including truck put‑away, cycle counts, back stock, and other inventory tasks.
- Safely deliver parts to commercial customers as needed.
- Pick and stage parts for customer orders and pick up returns and cores.
- Drop off weekly/monthly sales flyers and collect credit accounts daily.
- Store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot.
- General stocking including truck stocking and back stock.
- Assist with inventory processes and store equipment usage.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Ability to use a delivery board system.
- Friendly communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge.
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expert at testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.
Job Skills
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- 2‑3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.
- Automotive parts experience preferred for Store Driver.
- Valid driver’s license and fleet safety certification required.
- Certificates, licenses, registrations as applicable.
Majorly walking or standing. Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Visual requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentUsually working inside; occasionally outside and exposed to various weather conditions while performing tasks such as installing batteries and wiper blades. Moderate noise level.
Compensation Range15.95 USD PER HOUR – 16.95 USD PER HOUR
