Residential Counselor

We are seeking to fill Residential Counselor positions and add valuable members to our team to accomplish our mission.

This individual is part of a 24/7 team responsible for the safety and welfare of veterans residing in our Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program. The veteran can remain in the program for up to two years, but the typical stay is less than 12 months.

• Develops and maintains positive relationships with the clients, staff, volunteers and visitors.
• Maintains resident safety and confidentiality. Conducts bag checks on entry, administers breathalyzer and random drug tests to clients, and forwards incoming calls for residents.
• Prepares and submits detailed shift and incident reports of all activities, incidents and emergencies that occur during shift.
• Maintains safety and security of the building, company vehicles, and all Veterans Inc. property on site.
• Serves as first responder for client-related emergencies; CPR, First Aid, and Narcan administration are required.
• Other special projects and duties as assigned.

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience working in security, residential or direct care services.
• Must be able to successfully pass a CORI/Background records check.
• Compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Religious and Medical Exemptions are considered.
• Must be willing to submit to and successfully pass a drug test.

There is an hourly base rate starting at $20.00 per hour. A $2 shift differential applies for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Per diems earn a flat rate of $25 per hour.

Full-time, 2nd shift; part-time, 1st shift; and per diem positions are available.

Salary: $20 - $25 per hour.
