Language Bank is seeking a Youth & Family Specialist - Support & Stabilization role to support families and ensure child safety.

Pay Range$51,196 per year
Work Location / Program OverviewService will primarily be delivered in person where the parent/caregivers are residing. It will be important for families to receive services where they are comfortable, which will promote engagement and the opportunity for change. Based on the family’s needs, services may also be delivered in other locations including community-based settings such as public transportation, grocery stores, schools, banks, laundry mats, and doctors' offices.
Ascentria’s vision is to ensure that settings for services will align with the unique needs of the family and promote knowledge of parenting and child development, building of social and emotional competence, parental resilience, social connections, and concrete supports.
As part of our Safe and Stable Family Service;
Ascentria will deliver services that assist parents/caregivers with growing their capacity to keep children safe in their homes to either prevent removal or support families after reunification. Motivational interviewing and parent coaching will be utilized to help develop and enhance the Five Protective Factors based on family strengths and individual needs.
- MA:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field with 1-year experience and LSW licensure eligibility - NH:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related field with 2 years’ experience working with children and/or families - Ability to work within the Mission of the agency.
- Significant experience working with children with social/emotional/physical problems desirable; mediation and conflict resolution skills helpful.
- Lived experience relevant to the role is strongly valued and encouraged.
- Word processing/computer skills preferred.
- Open to new ideas and desire to grow professionally, flexibility in thinking and scheduling.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, protocols and/or procedures.
- Knowledge of Five Protective Factors framework and its application to family support.
- Computer skills required.
- Ability to travel to meet client needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to use independent judgment and discretion; investigate, analyze and draw professional conclusions.
