Job Description SummaryWhen a vacancy occurs, WPI Athletics will seek part‑time assistant coaches for various varsity sport teams. Interested candidates must complete the appropriate applicant information online. The department will directly contact those applicants who are under strong consideration. Please note that candidate applications will remain on file until June 30 each year.
Job DescriptionThe primary duty is to assist the head coach in providing leadership and direction for all aspects of the varsity sport program. This includes fostering a culture of compliance with NCAA rules and regulations, as well as WPI university policies and procedures. Responsibilities also include maintaining positive public relations for the program, the department, and WPI, while serving as a role model for student‑athletes both in and out of competition.
Additionally, the role involves assisting in the preparation of student‑athletes for competition and supporting an educational environment that promotes the development of the whole student‑athlete.
- Assist the head coach in all aspects of the varsity sport program
- Foster compliance with NCAA rules and WPI policies

- Bachelor’s degree required
- Collegiate coaching experience preferred
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
Compensation: $500 – $7,000 per season, depending on sport and responsibilities.
