We are currently hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II
.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment such as electrical, brake, cooling, air conditioning, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.
- Inspect, test, and diagnose defective equipment using handheld computers and pressure gauges.
- Road‑test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify proper operation.
- Identify problems and evaluate alternatives with sound judgment.
- Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company‑issued service truck; perform periodic reconciliation.
- Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre‑/post‑trip inspections.
- Work with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations.
- Manage concurrent tasks, prioritizing work and time allocations.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
- Document work in Repair Orders (RO) via the company‑issued iOS device and TRAIT application.
- Accurately complete DOT and other required forms promptly.
- Work independently and manage daily schedule.
- Maintain high productivity and meet standard repair times.
- Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed.
- Communicate with management to obtain approvals on repair estimates and RO findings.
- Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
- Maintain company‑issued service truck, perform safety checks, and daily pre/post‑trip inspections.
- High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 years of related experience (or alternate combinations of degree/certification and experience).
- Possess necessary hand tools to perform required duties.
- Earn ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
- Pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
- Possess a valid DOT medical card with at least 4 months remaining (or will complete physical if less than 4 months).
- Be at least 21 years of age due to interstate operating authority regulations.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and maintain state Driver Qualification File.
