Job Title:

About the role

To become a Plumbing Lecturer in our Construction department, you need to be committed, adaptable and passionate about sharing your skills and experience in Further Education. The colleges culture values diversity, equity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach across a range of Plumbing programmes, delivering high quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop new courses and improve existing ones within the Plumbing curriculum.
  • Recruit and provide guidance for new learners.
  • Plan learning and assessment experiences, manage the learning process, provide timely assessment opportunities and constructive feedback.
  • Support functional skills, enhance learning through technology and produce schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment schedules.
  • Coordinate curriculum across study centres, attend curriculum meetings and contribute to quality improvement mechanisms.
  • Keep accurate administration records, handle learner ILPs, progress and performance data.
  • Liaise with other departments (e.g. Exams, MIS) where appropriate.
  • Ensure safe working practices throughout the programme area.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Hold an appropriate teaching qualification or be willing to undertake the Certificate in Education and Training within 2 years of appointment.
  • Minimum level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
  • Experience in teaching or training within a plumbing or construction sector is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in curriculum development or teaching leadership is an advantage.

Employment Conditions
  • Salary band: £24,118 - £39,725 per annum, increasing annually within the band.
  • Hours:

    37 per week (25 teaching, 12 administration).
  • Annual leave: 37 days plus 8 public holidays and 5 concessionary days.
  • Probation: 9 months with mandatory induction and training.
  • Location:

    Worcester campus with travel to other sites as required.
  • Pension:
    Teachers Pension scheme available.
  • Additional costs:
    Disclosure & Barring Service check will be deducted from first salary.
