Cover Supervisor

Cover Supervisor – Sandwell, Dudley & Worcester – Salary: £130‑£150 per day

We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors across Sandwell, Dudley, and Worcester, supporting secondary schools during short‑term teacher absences.

As a Cover Supervisor you will supervise classes in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring pupils remain on task and follow school behaviour policies. This role does not require lesson planning or teaching; work will be set in advance by the teacher.

• Supervise whole classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson materials and instructions provided by teaching staff
• Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies
• Ensure pupils are engaged and remain on task throughout the lesson
• Take registers and report any issues to the appropriate staff
• Provide feedback to teachers on pupil engagement and behaviour
• Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and school policies at all times

• Previous experience working with secondary‑aged pupils
• Strong classroom presence and behaviour management skills
• Confident supervising groups of pupils independently
• Reliable, organised, and professional
• Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments

• Experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or similar school‑based role
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Clear communication skills
• Interest in education or progression into teaching (desirable, not essential)
