Job Overview

Strategic Lead for Place Salary – a full‑time, fixed‑term contract (Salary £32,750–£34,950 per annum) based at the University of Worcester (Hines Building, Henwick Grove, Worcester, WR2 6AJ
) reporting to the Deputy CEO.

You will lead place‑based work across Herefordshire and Worcestershire, focusing on communities facing the greatest inequalities, including rural areas and areas of deprivation. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with communities, statutory organisations (e.g. local authorities, health partners), providers and voluntary organisations, and collectively working towards a shared goal of increasing physical activity. You will capture and share learning to encourage more place‑based working across both counties, building a picture of how statutory organisations and community infrastructure interact, and linking opportunities that make a real difference to people’s lives.

The role is facilitative: you will convene, connect and collaborate with partners so that communities shape what happens in their place rather than running sessions or managing facilities.
