Learning Services Worcestershire is seeking enthusiastic sessional tutors to deliver Learn Here programmes, working with adults aged 19+.
About the ProvisionLearn Here courses support adults to develop skills for life and work through first step engagement in learning within their local communities. The offer has a range of different curriculum strands, including:
- Creative skills
- Cooking
- Non-accredited English, Maths and ESOL
- Life skills
- Employability skills
- Health and wellbeing
Courses are delivered in community settings across Worcestershire and online, creating accessible opportunities for adults to engage in learning close to home or remotely.
Our programmes are designed to be inclusive, practical and engaging, supporting learners to build confidence, develop new skills, improve their health and wellbeing and re-engage with learning. They provide opportunities for learners to progress into accredited programmes and support learners through Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to understand their next steps and progression opportunities.
About the RolesAs a Learn Here Tutor, you will take responsibility for planning and delivering engaging, high-quality sessions that support adults to develop skills for life and work. You will play a key role in creating inclusive learning environments and supporting learners to achieve their personal goals.
We are recruiting to our established, career-graded tutor pathway:
Tutors (Scale
4) – £14.82 per hour
Plan and deliver engaging Learn Here sessions, supporting adults to develop skills and confidence for life and work.
Senior Tutors (Scale
6) – £16.35 per hour
Alongside teaching, contribute to curriculum planning, quality improvement and mentoring colleagues.
While these roles sit within a wider generic tutor structure, you will primarily deliver within the Learn Here provision. Full expectations are outlined in the job descriptions attached to this advert. Applicants are matched to the applicable role (tutor or senior tutor) at shortlisting depending on qualification and/or experience.
What You’ll Be Doing- Plan and deliver inclusive Learn Here sessions
- Support adults to build skills, confidence and independence
- Support learners to develop skills for everyday life, work and progression
- Adapt delivery to meet a wide range of learner needs
- Support learners to re-engage with learning and explore next steps
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and community partners
- Track learner progress and provide feedback
- Embed safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion
- Are passionate about adult learning and community engagement
- Can build positive relationships with adult learners
- Are adaptable and learner-focused
- Can support learners with a range of needs to achieve and progress
- Assistant Tutors: experience supporting learning
- Tutors/Senior Tutors: experience delivering learning within FE or community-based settings (ideally with adults)
- Experience or a skills set in a particular subject area (e.g. art, textiles, cookery or similar) that you can bring as a specialism to the Learn Here programme
- A commitment to supporting learners to achieve outcomes and progression
- Make a meaningful difference to individuals and communities
- Work in a supportive, collaborative team
