Job Title: Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Pre‑School Maternity Cover

Salary: Grade 3 SCP 3–4 (£24,796‑£25,185) (FTE AYR) – to be pro rata

Actual salary: £11,425.35 – £11,867.05 per annum

Hours: 19.75 hours per week, 39 weeks (TTO + Training Days)

Start date: Required September 2026

• Support day‑to‑day teaching assistant activities in the Pre‑School.
• Provide child‑care for children from birth to 5 years old, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.
• Support teachers with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, Development Matters and early childhood development practices.
• Promote good practice, maintain high quality care, and demonstrate professionalism.
• Maintain organisation, flexibility, and creativity in planning and delivering activities.

• NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or equivalent.
• Paediatric First Aid certificate.
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and Development Matters.
• Experience working in an Early Years setting with children aged 2‑5 years.
• Strong organisational skills, flexibility, creativity and commitment to providing first‑class childcare.
