Welding and Fabrication Engineering Learning & Development Specialist
Location:
Worcester - travel to Hereford site once a week

Job type:
Dual-role opportunity (Part-time and Full-time available)

We are really excited to be working with our client Herefordshire and Worcestershire Group Training Association and supporting them in looking for an experienced Engineering Learning & Development Specialist specialising in welding and fabrication to support apprentices throughout their learning journey. This role combines coaching, mentoring, learner support, employer engagement, and apprenticeship compliance to help learners achieve their full potential and successfully complete their programmes.

As an Engineering Learning & Development Specialist, you'll act as the key link between apprentices, employers, and training teams, ensuring learners remain engaged, supported, and on track to achieve their apprenticeship goals.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing and supporting apprentices throughout their apprenticeship journey
  • Working closely with employers to coordinate on and off-the-job learning
  • Supporting learner wellbeing, safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare
  • Providing coaching and guidance on apprenticeship requirements and wider topics such as Prevent and safeguarding
  • Supporting apprentice recruitment, initial assessments, and programme matching
  • Identifying training opportunities within employer businesses and promoting additional training services
About You
Essential:
  • Level 3 qualification (or above) in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Manufacturing or engineering industry experience
  • Experience in welding and fabrication
  • Experience coaching, assessing, training, or supporting apprentices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Passion for developing people and supporting learner success
Desirable:
  • Apprenticeship-trained background
  • Assessor, IQA, training, coaching, or Health & Safety qualifications
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and frameworks
  • Understanding of safeguarding, Prevent, and British Values
  • Experience working within apprenticeship or further education environments
