Flourish Education are currently recruiting Behaviour Mentors to work within secondary schools across Worcester and the surrounding areas.
Are you a Sports Graduate, Sports Coach or Graduate looking to build a career working with young people? Do you have the confidence, resilience and ability to motivate others? This could be an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience within a secondary school while making a real difference to pupils.
We are looking for enthusiastic Behaviour Mentors who can build positive relationships with young people and support pupils who may struggle with behaviour, engagement or barriers to learning. Your experience from sports coaching, university, youth work, mentoring or other roles working with young people could be highly transferable to this position.
Plethora strategically, you are a Sports Graduate considering a career in teaching, a qualified sports coach looking to move into education, or a recent graduate looking for a rewarding full-time role working with young people. Previous school experience is desirable but not essential, as the most important qualities are confidence, resilience, patience and the ability to engage and motivate pupils.
The role will involve:- Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils
- Supporting pupils with behavioural, social and emotional needs
- Building positive relationships with young people
- Using your skills and experience to motivate and encourage pupils
- Supporting pupils to improve their behaviour and engagement
- Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
- Supporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom
- Acting as a positive role model for pupils
- Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, resilience and self-belief
- Helping pupils re-engage with their education
- Supporting behaviour and pastoral interventions
- Managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
- Working alongside teachers and the wider pastoral team
- Encouraging pupils to make positive choices
- Supporting pupils to develop their communication and social skills
- Monitoring pupil progress and contributing to reviews where appropriate
- Graduate with a degree from a UK university
, ideally in Sport, Sports Coaching, Psychology, Education, Youth Work or a related subject - Sports coaching or experience working with young people is highly desirable
- Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting young people is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident and able to build positive relationships with teenagers
- Ability to motivate and encourage young people
- Calm, patient and resilient approach
- Ability to manage challenging situations confidently and professionally
- Strong teamwork skills
- Professional and reliable approach
- Passion for supporting young people to succeed
- Previous experience working in a school is desirable but not essential
- Experience supporting pupils with behavioural or SEMH needs is desirable
- £100 to £110 per day
, depending on experience, which equates to approximately £19,500 to £21,450 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year - Full-time and longer-term opportunities available

This Behaviour Mentor opportunity is based across Worcester and the surrounding areas, with a range of longer-term opportunities available within secondary schools.
The role is easily commutable from Worcester, St Johns, Warndon, Gorse Hill, Ronkswood, Claines, Battenhall, Kempsey, Hallow, Lower Wick and surrounding areas.
