The Role

An innovative and rapidly growing medical device manufacturer is seeking a Project Development / Manufacturing Engineer to support the next phase of commercialisation and manufacturing excellence.

The business operates within a highly regulated ISO
13485 environment and is committed to delivering market-leading orthopaedic implant solutions. Backed by private investment, the organisation is focused on scaling operations while maintaining exceptional quality and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

This is a hands-on, detail-driven engineering position focused on driving manufacturing processes toward zero defects, improving process capability, and enhancing operational performance.

You will:

* Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods

* Analyse process deviations, trends and performance data

* Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools (Kaizen, VSM, PFMEA)

* Program and operate CNC machinery (including CAD/CAM interfaces such as Alpha

CAM)

* Support validation, documentation and regulatory compliance (ISO
13485, GMP)

* Assist in SOP creation, risk assessments (PUWER, COSHH) and training materials

* Maintain production equipment and optimise output

* Liaise with design and planning teams to ensure manufacturability

* Contribute to KPI reporting and structured project planning

This role offers exposure to new product introduction (NPI) and bespoke implant manufacturing within a regulated medical environment.

Requirements

* Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or similar discipline)

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering role

* Experience with in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical devices preferred)

* Strong understanding of CNC machining & CAD/CAM (Alpha

CAM desirable)

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

* Experience with Lean manufacturing tools

* Knowledge of ISO
13485 and GMP principles

* Strong problem-solving and project delivery skills

* Experience with Solid Works advantageous
