Within Finance Operational Services (FOS) we are continually working to ensure the services we deliver support the wider business, our adults and children with care and support needs, and our customer journey too. We support the Finance Operational Services (FOS) Leadership Team in providing strategic, statutory and core financial services to directly support the Council in helping to maintain, improve and deliver frontline services for Worcestershire’s customers, residents and businesses.

The Role in the Workflow Business Unit

Due to internal progression, we are now looking for a new team member to join our Workflow Business Unit (WBU).

The WBU underpins the work of several teams within Finance and, to successfully provide this service, all WBU Officers liaise with the Council’s Customer Contact Centre daily to be able to respond to finance queries, and meet the standards expected in our Service Level Agreement. All team members speak to a variety of customers including adults with care and support needs, adult social care colleagues, Social Workers, schools and businesses, so to be successful in this position excellent communication skills are essential.

Examples of daily routine tasks are assisting with processing financial assessments, resolving Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable queries in line with expected service standards, timescales and within defined legislation. The team are also expected to be able to step out of the daily business as usual tasks and provide flexible ad-hoc support to other Finance Operational Services (FOS) teams, as required and instructed.

Whilst having a knowledge of Adults Social Care is useful for this role, it is more important that you can consistently demonstrate a willingness to learn and apply new processes, a desire to continually improve service delivery, and take pride in excellent attention to detail, problem solving and customer service at all times. A genuine desire to work to become another valued member of our conscientious and passionate team is key to being successful in this role and team.
