The Client

Established many years this company are forward thinking and have ambitious plans to continue to grow. They are looking to strengthen their accounting team with the appointment of a Finance Controller to manage the financial affairs of the group and any additional commercial matters delegated by the Board of Directors.

The Role

As Finance Controller you will report to the Group Financial Director and be responsible for the finance team. You will be responsible for the smooth running of the finance department and ensuring that goods delivered are invoiced promptly, that customers pay on time, and that both suppliers and employees are paid on a timely basis. You will assess the effectiveness of accounting systems, ensuring they are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements and best practice.

You will prepare management accounts each month for reporting to the monthly management meeting, including analysis of sales and of the profitability of each operating division, highlight any matters of interest in the financial management of the group, Maintain stock reconciliations and stock reporting. You will prepare annual statutory accounts; assist with budgets, cash flow and forecasting.

The Candidate

The successful applicant for the role of Finance Controller must be ACCA or CIMA qualified with at least 5 years experience in preparing management accounts. Prior use of accounting systems, Microsoft office and Microsoft Business Centre will be advantageous. Experience of working in a manufacturing environment is most desirable as you will need to provide accounting for this process along with stock control, stock reconciliation and manufacturing processes.

You will be a clear communicator and be capable of prioritising your workload and the workload of your team, as Finance Controller you will maintain relationships with other departments and have worked in a similar role.
