Assistant Accountant | Permanent | up to £35,000 | Location - Initially Worcester but then full-time Kidderminster (office based)

The RoleMy client is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant who brings energy, curiosity and a genuine desire to learn. This is a dynamic role that offers variety, responsibility and real scope to grow. You'll play a hands-on role in day to day, helping to keep our financial operations accurate, timely and efficient. TheKey Responsibilities
- Support the month end close process, analysing transactions and preparing required journals with supporting schedules
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including cash allocation, bank payments, PO creation, requisitions and collections.
- Maintain ledgers and balance sheet reconciliations bank / AR / AP / other balance sheet accounts (including intercompany)
- Assist with VAT / indirect tax returns and ensure compliance with UK and ROI reporting requirements
- Help prepare management accounts and variance analysis for group reporting
- Support with statutory accounts preparation and necessary compliance filings
- Assist with asset registers and depreciation schedules
- Assist with the annual audit process
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial reporting requirements
- Processing of expenses and mileage claims
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business operations
- 2+ years of experience in a similar assistant accounting role
- Practical experience of using accounting principles, standards, and practices
- Experience and confidence using financial software
- Passionate about a career in finance

- Curiosity, proactivity, resourcefulness and being a positive team player
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- AAT qualified, or studying towards would be an advantage
