Job Description & How to Apply Below
The business is evolving, and so is its finance function. There is plenty of scope to improve reporting, strengthen financial visibility and influence how the business operates. We're looking for someone who enjoys that challenge, rather than someone who needs every system and process to be perfect.
The Role Working closely with senior finance and commercial stakeholders, you'll play a key role in supporting financial performance across a complex, fast-moving business. Your responsibilities will include:
Partnering with senior commercial leaders, challenging assumptions and providing financial insight that influences business decisions. Analysing sales, margins, stock, pricing and profitability to identify opportunities for improved performance. Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities across your areas of responsibility. Working with large and sometimes complex datasets, turning detailed analysis into clear, actionable recommendations. Supporting commercial initiatives, investment decisions and business improvement projects through financial modelling and analysis.
Improving reporting, processes and the quality of management information. Building strong relationships across finance and the wider business, ensuring financial insight is understood and used effectively. About You We're looking for an established Finance Business Partner or commercially focused Finance Manager who combines strong analytical skills with the confidence to influence people and decisions. You'll ideally bring:
An ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification. Proven experience in commercial finance or business partnering, ideally within wholesale, distribution, retail, FMCG, e-commerce or another product-led environment. Strong financial modelling, forecasting and analytical skills, with advanced Excel capability. Experience working with commercial performance measures such as sales, margins, stock, pricing or profitability. The confidence to challenge senior stakeholders constructively and build credible, effective working relationships.
A practical, proactive approach, with the ability to work through imperfect data and complex processes to find answers. The ability to balance detailed analysis with a clear understanding of the wider commercial picture. Power BI experience would be advantageous, although strong analytical capability and commercial judgement are far more important. Above all, we're looking for somebody who is curious, resilient and commercially minded.
Someone who isn't afraid to get into the detail, ask difficult questions and take ownership of delivering meaningful improvements. What's on Offer? Competitive salary circa £65,000 - £70,000, dependent on experience. Annual performance-related bonus. 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service. Hybrid working, with the role predominantly based in Stoke-on-Trent. The opportunity to work with experienced commercial leaders across a substantial business.
Genuine scope to influence commercial performance, improve processes and develop your career. If you're a commercially confident Finance Business Partner who enjoys…
