Job summary
The Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR) is the route to specialist registration for doctors who have not completed a GMC-approved programme in the relevant specialty, but who can demonstrate that they have the relevant knowledge, skills and experience. This post would therefore be suitable for Resident Doctors looking to pursue a portfolio route as an alternative to formal specialty training.
Depending on the years of experience in Emergency Medicine, NHS experience and proven competencies, the successful candidate would start on Tier 2, Tier 3 or Tier 4 rota (dependent on previous experience).
We initially offer a 1-year contract. Following this period, your contract will be subject to an annual review based on the achievement of specified criteria, including a successful Educational Supervisor and ARCP Faculty Report evidencing completion of WBPAs and other requirements set out at the start of your year. If the review is successful, your contract will be extended for a further 12 months.
These extensions will continue annually, supporting your progression through the 4-year programme, and will enable you to complete the Pathway portfolio and secondments. Please note that there is no guarantee of a 4-year contract from the outset.
Placements will be across both the Alexandra Emergency Department and the Worcester Royal Emergency Department. There are RCEM Portfolio Programme (CESR) Supervisors and Assessors at both sites.
