We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join us as a Maintenance and Facilities Assistant in our Estates and Facilities team working collaboratively across the Hospice teams.

The post holder will work as part of the Estates and Facilities team to provide high standards of efficiency, performance and appearance of the premises, grounds, and equipment, including planned and emergency maintenance and repairs to the premises at the hospice as well as at hospice retail premises across Worcestershire.

The role will at times include liaising with funeral directors, and assisting in the transferring of deceased patients to the Hospice mortuary.

Part of the role will include being part of the out of hours call out rota team, to ensure out of hours emergency response, being prepared to travel to the Hospice if required. Out of hours pay enhancements will be in addition to the annual salary.

This post requires an Standard Disclosure and Barring Service check.

About you

You will be a proactive individual, prioritising your own workload and working under your own initiative, holding good communication and problem-solving skills, with a good level of computer literacy.

Experience of buildings and grounds maintenance and a working knowledge of health & safety legislation is essential whilst experience of working within a healthcare environment is desirable.

As the role will include working at the hospice retail premisses applicants will need a full UK driving licence to visit the retail sites across Worcestershire as and when required.
