Are you a dynamic, experienced, highly motivated and organised with a passion for education and enhancing clinical practice? If so we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Practice Education Team.
The post holder will be an integral member of the Practice Education Team, dedicated to supporting the development and retention of healthcare professionals across the Trust, including those within Nursing and Allied Health Professions. The role focuses on enhancing staff knowledge, skills, competence, and confidence to ensure a skilled, diverse workforce capable of delivering high quality, compassionate, person-centred care.
The post holder will utilise a range of teaching and supportive approaches such as coaching, mentoring, and guided learning, and will support the assessment of learning and clinical competence in practice. Working flexibly across Trust sites, they will provide clinical expertise to a variety of projects, promote best practice, and help to create a positive, effective learning environment for all staff.
Please note, this vacancy is for 30 hours a week.
Main duties of the job- Act as a clinical role model, demonstrating high standards of holistic, patient-centred care and advanced clinical skills.
- Deliver education and training using a range of approaches including bedside coaching, mentoring, tutorials, and multi-professional teaching sessions.
- Promote evidence-based practice, reflective learning, and continuous professional development across clinical teams.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards (HCPC/NMC), national guidelines, and organisational policies.
- Develop, implement, and review clinical guidelines, protocols, and best practice standards.
- Support the delivery of workforce projects, practice educator programmes, and international recruitment initiatives.
- Foster a positive learning culture that supports accountability, team working, and ownership of professional development.
- Identify and escalate risks or concerns impacting patient safety and support incident investigations where required.
- Contribute to training needs analysis, policy development, audit activity, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide leadership in multi-professional team working to enhance patient outcomes and quality of care.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current research, national developments, and mandatory training requirements.
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is a large acute and specialised hospital trust that provides a range of local acute services to the residents of Worcestershire and more specialised services to a larger population in Herefordshire and beyond.
