Main Responsibilities of care worker Supporting service users with personal care, dressing, washing and toileting. Assisting with mobility, transfers and the safe use of moving-and-handling equipment. Preparing meals and supporting with nutrition and hydration. Providing medication support in accordance with training, care plans and company policy. Offering companionship, emotional support and social engagement. Supporting with light household duties and daily living activities.
Following care plans, risk assessments and professional instructions. Completing accurate care records and electronic visit logs. Reporting changes in a service user’s health, behaviour or wellbeing. Recognising and reporting safeguarding, health and safety or medication concerns. Maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries. Attending mandatory training, supervision and competency assessments. About You (the care worker) You should be:
Caring, patient and respectful. Reliable and punctual. Able to communicate clearly in spoken and written English. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Able to follow care plans, instructions and company procedures. Committed to promoting dignity, equality, independence and choice. Willing to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Previous care experience (1 year) and a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Adult Care or Health and Social Care are desirable but not essential, as training may be provided.
Applicants may be required to travel between service users. A full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle may therefore be required, depending on the role and location. Employment Checks Appointment will be subject to:
An enhanced DBS check. Satisfactory references. Proof of identity and right to work in the UK. Completion of mandatory training and induction. A satisfactory probationary period.
