We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Prescriptions Administrator to join our friendly and supportive GP Surgery team in Worcester. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a positive, proactive approach to their work.

As a key member of the prescriptions team, you will act as the central point of communication between GPs, Nurse Practitioners, other clinicians, Care Navigators, the Practice Manager, patients, local pharmacies, and the wider primary care team. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that repeat medication requests are processed efficiently and in accordance with the practice protocols.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high standard of service in the processing of prescription requests and to act as a focal point of communication between clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure patients repeat prescriptions are produced within practice protocols and deadlines.

To work across Haresfield surgeries as required to carry out duties with a positive attitude and can-do approach towards problem solving.

The duties in this role will include co-ordinating and preparing repeat prescriptions for our patients, data entry onto patient records, Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) and liaising with patients and pharmacies.

You will also provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

You will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate and friendly nature who can operate in a busy environment with a range of people and professions, as you will be working with our clinical and administration teams.

The job responsibilities detailed within the Job Description form the basis of all non-clinical roles, whether they are patient-facing or non-patient facing. All staff should be prepared to undertake a variety of tasks, as required by the business, which may be subject to change from time to time. Each department will have their own priorities on a day‑to‑day basis.

6 Partners, 8 Salaried GPs and a University term time Triage GP

An experienced and strong Nursing Team

Experienced Practice Management, supported Line Managers, Administrative and Reception Staff.

Our branch Surgery in Kempsey compromises of an excellent Team of Dispensers and Reception Staff.

General Information

Haresfield Surgery is situated within the Worcester City locality boundary and provides general medical services to approximately 18,300 patients. The Practice has six partners, eight Salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Registrars, GP Clinical Pharmacists, a dedicated Management and Nursing Team, all of which are supported by skilled Receptionists and Administrators. It is ideally located with excellent road links to surrounding towns and villages.
