Service Desk Technician
Worcester
Initial 12 Month FTC with opporutinity to move permanent following this.
A well-established international engineering business is looking to recruit a Service Desk Technician to join its IT function based in Worcester.
This role suits someone with solid experience in 1st and 2nd line IT support who enjoys working in a customer-facing environment, resolving technical issues, and contributing to the smooth running of IT services across a European user base.
The role- Deliver first and second line technical support to end users across multiple European locations
- Receive, log and manage support requests through a central service desk system
- Take full ownership of incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication
- Provide support across desktop, laptop, peripherals, software and user access issues
- Assist with hardware provisioning, system upgrades, patching and security-related updates
- Work closely with senior IT colleagues and global teams to escalate and resolve more complex issues
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation and knowledge base content
- Support ongoing improvements to IT processes and service delivery
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a service desk, desktop support or IT support role
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Office applications
- Hands-on experience supporting and administering Microsoft 365
- Some exposure to scripting or automation within an IT support environment
- Well organised, able to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
- A proactive, customer-focused mindset with good communication skills
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a collaborative IT team
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience
- Salary range of £28,000-£32,000
