We are a City & Guilds approved trainer and we provide Health and Safety training and bespoke courses for industries requiring confined space and rescue expertise. We are looking for a Head of Training to take full ownership of our health and safety training facility. This is a leadership role for someone who can manage high-risk safety training while running the department as a profitable, growing business unit.
You will be directly responsible for the commercial profitability of the centre and the legal validity of all certifications issued. Your focus will be on hitting revenue targets through B2B business development while maintaining a "gold standard" training environment.
Key Responsibilities- P&L & Revenue Growth: Identify and pitch training solutions to construction, engineering, and utility firms to build long-term partnerships and secure repeat bookings.
- Capacity Optimisation: Manage the daily scheduling of trainers, equipment, and classroom facilities to ensure 100% capacity and operational efficiency.
- Portfolio Development: Research market trends to design and launch new, profitable training programmes that meet current legislative standards.
- Regulatory Oversight: Act as the primary contact for awarding bodies (City & Guilds, IOSH, CITB, etc.) and ensure all Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) meets audit requirements.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of three specialist trainers, conducting performance reviews and driving high standards of delivery.
- Safety Standards: Maintain the facility as a "gold standard" environment, ensuring all practical training areas—specifically Confined Space and Plant—are safe and fully compliant.
- Commercial Mindset: Proven success in B2B sales or account management with a clear understanding of what drives profitability.
- Technical Authority: A professional certification in Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH) or significant vocational experience in a relevant technical field.

Experience:
Extensive experience managing audits and standards for awarding bodies like City & Guilds, CITB, or IOSH. - Operational
Skills:
The ability to manage project life cycles from initial concept through to full accreditation. - Advantageous: An Internal Quality Assurance (V1 or TAQA) award.
You will have a high degree of autonomy in managing the training facility and pursuing B2B leads. You will play an active role in defining the commercial growth strategy for the department, with performance reviewed monthly against revenue targets
