Deskside Support & Engineering Services Lead

The primary purpose of the Deskside Support & Engineering Services Lead role is to provide operational leadership and management of the Deskside Support and Engineering Services teams, ensuring the delivery of an efficient, customer-focused and high-quality end-to-end ICT service across West Mercia Police. The role is responsible for overseeing team performance, managing resources and priorities, and driving continuous improvement to support operational policing and business objectives.

The post holder will lead the provision of support, maintenance, administration and lifecycle management across the organisation's technology estate, ensuring the availability, reliability and security of critical ICT services for both internal and external customers.

The role is accountable for managing and coordinating the resolution of incidents, service requests and technical issues across a diverse technology estate, including CCTV systems, interview recording solutions, Airwave and operational radios, network infrastructure, laptops, desktops, mobile devices, audio-visual equipment, and associated hardware and software. Working with stakeholders, suppliers and technical teams, the post holder will ensure services are delivered effectively, reliably and in line with operational requirements.

In addition, the role will mentor, develop and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and technical excellence while ensuring the team is equipped to deliver a resilient and professional service across the force.

• The Deskside Support & Engineering Services Lead role is an office based role
• Applicants must have resided in the UK for a continuous period of at least 5 years immediately prior to submitting their application. This is to ensure a checkable history that satisfies the Management Vetting (MV) / Security Check (SC) standards required for this post
