Salary flexible according to the experience of the candidate, with 32 days holidays (including bank holidays and period between Christmas and New Year). Working hours Monday – Thursday 8:30-5pm, Friday 8:30-3:30pm
Our Client develops and manufactures specialist chemical and paint products for the finishing industry. With many years of experience in providing organic coatings, with significant success in the glass industry the company wishes to further expand its technology, both in this and other markets. The company now have an opportunity for a Paint Chemist to come and join their Paint team.
The technical support provided to customers will increase over time as experience and product knowledge is gained by the candidate.
The role will develop over time so we are looking for a flexible and adaptable candidate who is keen to take on additional responsibilities to help to move the company forward. Full training will be provided but the role would suit an individual who is self-motivated as they will plan their own workloads once all actions have been agreed and prioritised.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Paint Chemist will be responsible for;
Responsibilities
* Active participation in the development, matching and testing of colours in our full range of paints and coatings
* Matching colours to recognised standards and/or to customer requirements.
* To support other areas in the laboratory such as new product development projects and QA.
* Discussion of problems and resolutions with customers and the sales team to provide technical support.
* Support internal QA and manufacturing staff with technical issues.
Candidate Profile
* Understanding of laboratory equipment
* Ability to recognise colour differentials
* Excellent analytical skills
* Excellent organisational skills
* Scrupulous attention to detail, well organised and a team player who can show initiative to get involved in all aspects of the role
