Hours 21 hours per week, worked over three days, preferably, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, but there can be some flexibility on this.

Salary £37,000 FTE. per annum. Actual pro rata salary per annum; £20,720.

At St Richard’s Hospice, we’re launching an exciting new high-value donor programme and are looking for an ambitious Philanthropy Manager to lead its development. This newly created role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by cultivating and stewarding relationships with major donors, helping to secure the funding that enables us to provide outstanding hospice care to our community.

Working closely with the Director of Business and Income Generation, you will develop and deliver a new major donor strategy, building long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals and key influencers. You’ll work collaboratively with departmental colleagues to achieve income targets and to identify potential new partners and innovative ways to integrate high value donor involvement within the organisation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys networking, relationship building and securing significant donations while helping to establish a new and exciting income stream.

What you’ll be doing;

  • Developing and implementing a high-value donor fundraising programme.
  • Identifying, researching and cultivating prospective major donors.
  • Building strong, long-term relationships with supporters capable of making significant gifts.
  • Creating bespoke proposals and stewardship plans that inspire transformational giving.
  • Working with trustees and senior staff and to open doors and strengthen donor engagement.
  • Planning and hosting exclusive cultivation and stewardship events.
  • Using insight and data to manage donor pipelines, monitor performance and maximise fundraising opportunities.
About you

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Excellent account management experience who is skilled in building rapport and developing relationships with a variety of different individuals, organisations, and groups simultaneously.
  • Proven success in major donor or relationship fundraising, with experience securing gifts of £2,000 and above.
  • Outstanding relationship management and networking skills.
  • Experience developing and managing donor pipelines.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills.
  • A strategic, proactive and results-focused approach.
  • Significant knowledge of budget setting and management.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
