Practice Nurse

We are currently looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our practice, skills in Respiratory,COPD and Asthma would be preferable but NOT essential.

Haresfield Surgery is a friendly and patient centred GP Practice in Worcester and you will have an opportunity to join our excellent Nursing Team and to work alongside five experienced

Practice Nurses, Assistant Practitioners, Senior Phlebotomist and three Healthcare Assistants.

Working hours will be 30-37.5 per week, to be worked over 4-5 days.

We are looking for a Practice Nurse to join our supportive,enthusiastic and friendly team.

The Practice nurse will work as an integral part of the nursing team, using their skills and knowledge to offer holistic care to our registered patients.

General practice experience desirable, with a range of Practice nursing duties within a Primary Care setting that will include

Cervical Cytology

Immunisationsincluding Childhood, Travel Vaccinations and administering injections underPGD/PSD requirements

Familyplanning

Chronic Disease Management specifically respiratory but also Diabetes, COPD Asthma

Woundcare, Dressings, Compression Bandaging and Suture Removal

Assisting with Minor Surgery & Coil Clinics

Fullunderstanding and compliance with all Infection Control principles

Managingday to day stock control

Provide Health Education to patients and their families

Administer medications and treatments according to Clinicians orders

Assist Clinicians with patient examinations and procedures.

Provide patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols

Anyother duties delegated to the post

The practice consists of six GP Partners, eight Salaried GPs, two ANPs and a Clinical Pharmacist, whobenefit from a supportive and forward thinking Management and Practice Team,who all assist with the day to day running of our GMS Practice. This is apopular Practice with a growing list size of 18300+ patients.

Our primarypremises was purpose-built in 2006, and offers superb, modern facilities withinthe heart of Worcester City. We also have a dispensing branch surgery in the nearby rural village of Kempsey.

The practicebenefits from EMIS WEB clinical software and is active in the education and training of both GP Registrars and Medical Students.

Position PRACTICE NURSE

Accountable to NURSE MANAGER, PRACTICE MANAGER AND PARTNERS

(over 4 or 5 days)

Pay £31,414-£38,317 FTE per annum (Depending on Experience)

Job Summary

The Practice Nurse will be responsible for a number of clinical areas such as infection prevention and control, health promotion, chronic disease management, as well as actively supporting the practice management team in the reviewing and delivery of clinical policy and procedure.

We are looking for a practice nurse with experience in chronic disease management preferably with an accredited Respiratory qualifications, including Asthma and COPD but this is not essential.

The post holder will have access to appropriate clinical supervision and an appropriate named individual in the organisation to provide general advice and support on a day-to-day basis.
