Bank Chemotherapy Nurse | Oncology Department | Spire South Bank Hospital | Worcester | Bank | Flexible Working | Free On Site Parking

Spire South Bank Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a Chemotherapy Registered Nurse to join the Oncology Department on the flexible staffing bank. As a Chemotherapy Specialist Nurse you are responsible for delivering nursing services to patients within the unit. Act as key worker and work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to help create and maintain a robust oncology and chemotherapy outpatient service.

Duties

and responsibilities
  • To provide exemplary planned care for patients and assist in the management and organisation of care provision in Oncology Day Chemotherapy Centre. Care of cancer patients receiving Systemic Anti
    - Cancer Therapy (SACT).
  • Assess patients’ health and wellbeing across a complex and changing caseload of cancer patients.
  • Assist in the delivery of care to meet individuals’ health and wellbeing needs throughout the cancer treatment pathway.
  • Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information related to cancer patient care.
Who we’re looking for
  • NMC registered – your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions.
  • Have a minimum of 1‑2 years’ experience working in an Oncology/Haematology setting.
  • Competent in venepuncture, phlebotomy and cannulation and the use of CVADs.
  • Evidence of SACT competency.
  • UK Oncology Nurse Society (UKONS) SACT passport.
  • Post registration study in cancer care or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
  • Compassionate and patient advocate.
  • Excellent communication skills, organised and can showcase excellent patient care.
