Manufacturing Quality Technician (Contract)
Contract Length: 6 months
Hourly Rate: £18.19

We are looking for a dedicated Manufacturing Quality Technician to support our quality and inspection operations. This role is crucial in ensuring product conformity and enhancing inspection processes while driving continuous improvement across our workflows.
Key Responsibilities Process Improvement- Identify and lead initiatives to enhance inspection processes.
- Create and update SOPs, procedures, and QMS documentation to ensure operational consistency and compliance.
- Review and approve inspection reports for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
- Manage and enhance the Piweb inspection database and workflows.
- Serve as a go-to resource for colleagues on inspection and manufacturing quality inquiries.
- Execute quality activities with integrity, aligning with industry best practises.
- Contribute to audit readiness and support internal/external audits.
- Support CAPA processes to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
- Implement and improve 5S and TPM routines within the department.
- Develop departmental KPIs and OEE metrics to enhance performance visibility.
- Extensive experience in manufacturing quality, including handling nonconformance, inspection reporting, and documentation review/approval.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement practises like TPM and 5S.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high‑quality work.
- Experience in writing, updating, and maintaining SOPs and work instructions.
- Collaborative skills to work across departments to identify and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency with IT systems, including ERP platforms and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with castings, additive manufacturing, and machined part inspection.
- Experience with SAP ERP systems and Zeiss Piweb inspection database.
- Knowledge of NADCAP procedures and audit participation.
