Senior Social Work Practitioner – Homeless Intervention Team in Worcester, UK – £33.30 per hour – Hourly

Join us for an incredible 3‑month locum opportunity as a Senior Social Work Practitioner within the Homeless Intervention Team based in the vibrant city of Worcester. This agency role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of 16 and 17‑year‑olds who are homeless or at risk of homelessness while supporting them back into safe family environments or finding suitable accommodation to foster independent living.

Collaborate with a dedicated team comprising Social Workers and Specialist Family Support Workers to create positive change.

What you will do
  • Assess and support 16 and 17‑year‑olds at risk of homelessness to remain with or return to their families when safe.
  • Collaborate with families and individuals to explore accommodation options for those unable to stay at home.
  • Conduct assessments to identify support needs and enhance independent living skills for a successful transition to suitable accommodation.
  • Engage with young people to provide guidance and support as Children in Need or Looked After Children.
  • Work tirelessly to develop positive relationships with young people, their families, and partner agencies.
Qualifications and experience
  • Significant experience working with children and families.
  • Post‑qualifying experience as a Social Worker.
  • Solid understanding of issues faced by homeless young people and relevant legislation.
  • Current Social Work England registration and a professional qualification in social work.
