Role OverviewUnaccompanied asylum‑seeking and refugee (UASC) children are among the most vulnerable in our society. They arrive alone and in an unfamiliar country, after a long, perilous, and traumatic journey. Some may have experienced exploitation or persecution, and many are at risk of further exploitation or going missing once they arrive in the UK. They are children who need care, education, and public services to support their safety, health, and wellbeing.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and adaptable UASC Personal Advisor to work within Worcestershire's Care Leavers Service, supporting young people aged 17‑24 who are preparing for or in the process of transitioning to independent living.
Responsibilities- Manage and support an allocated caseload of young people, providing practical, personal, emotional, and financial advice to promote successful transitions to adulthood and independence.
- Develop effective working relationships with young people and partner agencies; act as the key professional supporter.
- Maintain case records, develop young people’s Pathway Plans, attend meetings, and conduct visits to young people at home and in the community.
- Promote the best outcomes possible and ensure safety and wellbeing.
- Work flexibly and adaptively, demonstrating professional curiosity and passion for helping young people achieve their potential, while aligning with corporate parenting principles.
- Collaborate with the team at Pershore Civic Centre and operate throughout the county, including community visits and occasionally beyond the county.
