Position: Teaching Assistant (SEND Academy

About This Role

  • Working pattern: to be discussed at interview
  • Term weeks: 38 + 2 weeks school closure per annum
  • Fixed term contract until the end of the Academic year to meet current in year demands

About

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide in‑class and small‑group support to help students access learning
  • Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and independence
  • Support teachers in delivering high‑quality learning experiences
  • Contribute to a nurturing, inclusive and aspirational school environment
  • Help students to feel safe, supported and ready to learn

You’ll work closely with teaching staff and pastoral colleagues, becoming part of a committed team who put students at the heart of everything they do.

  • Can adapt your approach to meet different learning needs
  • Have a positive attitude and strong sense of professional commitment

    Experience in a school or with children is beneficial, but not essential—we value the right values, energy and mindset, and full training will be provided.
